LONGLEAT 10K
10am JANUARY 24, 2027
If you want to take a look at what it is like to run the LONGLEAT 10k then take at this video put together by Gary MacAlister. Always a pleasure to have people like Gary come along and run the race, so this is a really good chance to get an inside view of the race through the eyes of independant runner.
Entries for 2027 are now open
We have been organising the Longleat 10K for over 10 years and it is one of our favourite races to organise. Run on the rolling hills of Longleat Safari Park, this is a one of a kind type of race and one of the few chances to race inside the grounds of Longleat Safari Park!
If you're looking for an early season, largely traffic-free 10K in a stunning setting, then look no further than the Longleat 10K; starting in front of the magnificence of Longleat House the race takes in the estates' private roads, with only a short excursion of 400m on public highways - which you run twice - as you pass the Bath Arms Public House before the final mile downhill to the finish.
For 2027 we have made the decision to focus solely on the 10K race and discontinue the 2-Mile run. We have a course limit for the event which we have reached in the past two years we have turned away 10K runners to accommodate the 2-Mile race. In addition there were logistical issues with delivering the 2-Mile race within the larger 10K event, so for 2027 it is a 10K-only event.
ABOUT LONGLEAT SAFARI PARK
In 1949, Longleat House became the first privately owned stately home to open to the public commercially. But its history extends much further back. Built between 1567 and 1580, it has been lived in by sixteen generations of the Thynn family. Today it is the family home of the 8th Marquess and Marchioness of Bath.
Did you know that Longleat was the first Safari Park to open outside of Africa in 1966? Home to over 120 species, you can see the amazing animals by car, foot, train, bus and boat. Unfortunately you can not see the animals during race day as the safari park will be closed in preparation for its opening weekend, just a week later! In fact it is because the park is closed to the public which allows to run the 10K in late January.
